The Ettrick Valley in the Scottish Borders is a beautiful part of the country and offers visitors many things to do.

Places to visit

Discover the history of the Scottish Borders by exploring the four Border Abbeys at Melrose, Dryburgh, Jedburgh and Kelso.

Visit the large Country Houses in the Scottish Borders including Mellerstain House, Paxton House, Manderston House, Bowhill, Abbotsford or Traquair.

There are also many castles and towers to visit including Floors Castle, Thirlestane Castle, Neidpath Castle, or explore the more modest Smailholm Tower, Jedburgh Castle with its Old Jail and Hermitage Castle.
